Purple Mist

Potato variety "Purple Mist" is a mid-season table variety with a maturation period of 90 to 110 days. The plant is tall, semi-erect, with large green leaves and slightly wavy edges. Tubers are oval-round in shape with small eyes, covered with red skin, and have light-yellow flesh. The marketable tuber mass ranges from 90 to 159 grams, and starch content is from 14.4 to 17.2%. The variety is characterized by good taste and tenderness, making it versatile for preparing various dishes, especially recommended for mashed potatoes.

Yield of the variety ranges from 182 to 309 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 495 centners per hectare, exceeding the standards of varieties such as "Aurora" and "Peter's Mystery". Marketable tuber percentage is 87-94%, and storability reaches 98%, ensuring long-term storage without quality loss. The number of tubers per plant ranges from 7 to 10.

The "Purple Mist" variety exhibits high resistance to potato late blight and leaf curl virus. It has moderate resistance to foliage and tuber phytophthora, as well as to crinkly and striped mosaic. However, the variety is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode. Due to its resistance to most diseases and increased resistance to degeneration, seed material can be used without renewal for 6-8 years. Preferred cultivation regions include the Northwestern and Far Eastern regions of Russia.
