The potato variety IRINDYK is a mid-early table variety adapted to the climatic conditions of the Middle Volga and Ural regions. The plant has medium to tall stature, intermediate type, and semi-erect form. Leaves are medium-sized, open, green, and the flower bud varies from small to medium size with intense anthocyanin coloring on the inner side. Tubers are oval-shaped with small eyes, red skin, and light-yellow flesh. The average weight of marketable tubers ranges from 104 to 124 grams, and starch content is between 17.1–18.7%. The variety exhibits high market yield, ranging from 161 to 289 centners per hectare, which is 51–56 centners higher than the standard Nevskiy, with a maximum yield reaching 382 centners per hectare. Tubers are rated as good to excellent in taste, with marketability at 85.7% and storage capacity at 96.0%. IRINDYK is resistant to potato late blight pathogen and moderately resistant to leaf curling mosaic and leaf curling. However, the variety is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and moderately resistant to phytophthora on foliage, while tubers show moderate susceptibility to this disease. Additionally, IRINDYK exhibits good drought tolerance and high vitamin C content, making it attractive for cultivation in the Volga Federal District. The variety has high productivity and quality characteristics, suitable for table use. Due to its adaptability, resistance to several diseases, and competitive price, IRINDYK contributes to reducing import dependence and increasing seed material production.
