Description Pirol
Pirol — a mid-early table variety, excellently suited for chip and dried potato product production. Its low content of reducing sugars remains stable during storage, allowing tubers to be used for processing even after prolonged storage. Due to its high dry matter content and low reducing sugar content, Pirol is also suitable for extrusion-based potato product manufacturing. It yields good finished product output during processing. It possesses excellent flavor qualities, a soft texture (boiling type B-C), minimal flesh color change after boiling, and contains 17–19% starch. Germination speed is rapid. It exhibits fast initial growth. Vegetative growth is vigorous, plants are tall, semi-erect intermediate type. Flowers are violet-blue, flower count ranges from medium to high. Storage quality is very good. Long storage period.
