Description Albatros
Albatros is a medium-early variety with very high starch content. Moderate to high tuber yields combined with consistently high starch content (from 20%) provide a high and guaranteed starch output. This makes the Albatros variety particularly in demand during mid-season processing. Characterized by high dry matter content and low reducing sugars, it is interesting for chip and dried potato product production. A definite advantage of the Albatros variety for the processing industry is its long storage capability. It has a pleasant taste. Due to the Albatros variety's tendency to store for long periods, tuber sprouting occurs slowly, but then rapid and very vigorous tops develop. Plants are upright, intermediate type, with thick stems. Flowers are white, number per plant up to large. Storage quality is good, very long storage period.
