Potato Eurostarch

Professional Grade: Performance and Consistency

When working with 'Eurostarch' from the German breeder Europlant Pflanzenzucht, you immediately notice its agronomic predictability. This mid-season variety follows a clear development schedule of 85-95 days, delivering uniform, oval-shaped tubers weighing 50-130 grams. For a grower, this uniformity is a significant advantage, ensuring less waste during mechanical harvesting and grading processes.

High Resistance, Lower Input Costs

Disease management is often the most expensive part of potato production, but Eurostarch reduces that burden effectively. This variety possesses a robust defense system against major threats:

• Golden Potato Cyst Nematode (Ro1, Ro4);
• Potato virus Y (PVY) and Leafroll virus;
• Late blight and Common scab.

Because the variety is inherently resistant to these issues, you can streamline your fungicide and pesticide programs, leading to improved net margins per hectare. Furthermore, the tubers show minimal susceptibility to internal bruising and iron spot disease, maintaining quality even after rough handling.

Designed for Storage and Processing

With a starch content of 20-21%, Eurostarch is a top-tier performer for the processing industry, particularly for chip production. The light-yellow flesh and attractive yellow netted skin look professional, while the medium eye depth makes the tubers easy to peel and process. One of the greatest benefits of this variety is its long-term storage potential. It maintains its structural integrity and skin quality remarkably well, allowing producers to hold stock and sell when market conditions are most favorable, rather than rushing to offload the harvest immediately.

For those prioritizing efficient crop management and high-quality processing specs, Europlant's Eurostarch provides a reliable, high-yield solution that minimizes the risks associated with potato cultivation.
