The Folva potato variety is a late-maturing table variety included in the State Register for the Central region of Russia. The plant is tall, semi-erect with green medium to large leaves. Tubers are oval-round in shape with small eyes, covered with yellow skin, and have a light-yellow flesh. The marketable tuber mass ranges from 85 to 115 grams, and the number of tubers per plant reaches 10-14. Starch content in tubers ranges from 12.0 to 15.3%, ensuring good culinary qualities and versatility in preparing soups, salads, and fried dishes. The yield of the Folva variety is at the level of the standard Atlant, ranging from 148 to 226 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching up to 311 centners per hectare, confirmed by data from Ivanovo Oblast. The tuber marketability is high — from 81 to 90%, and storability reaches 95%, ensuring long-term storage without loss of quality. The variety is characterized by good to excellent taste, belonging to the culinary type AB, making it popular among consumers. Folva shows resistance to several diseases, including potato blight (pathotype I) and golden potato cyst nematode, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. Additionally, the variety demonstrates moderate resistance to leaf curl virus. The developer of the variety is the company DLF Seeds A/S from the Netherlands. Due to its characteristics and resistance, the Folva variety is recommended for cultivation in the Central region of Russia.
