EXPLOSIVE

The potato variety 'Explosive' is an early-maturing table variety with oval tubers, covered with red skin and light-yellow flesh. The plant is of medium height, semi-erect, with medium-sized leaves and open green coloration. The flower calyx is of medium size with moderate intensity of anthocyanin pigmentation on the inner side. The marketable tuber mass ranges from 96 to 125 grams, making the variety suitable for mechanized harvesting and storage. Starch content in the tubers is 16.0–17.2%, ensuring good taste and high marketability, reaching 85–91%, as well as excellent storability up to 95%.

The 'Explosive' variety is characterized by high yield, averaging 156 to 240 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 350 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding those of some standard varieties. The first harvest can be collected as early as 45 days after emergence, confirming its early-maturing nature. The plant is resistant to potato cancer pathogen and moderately resistant to late blight on foliage and tubers, but susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and not resistant to viral diseases.

The 'Explosive' potato was developed and registered in the State Register in 2018 at a production base in the Moscow Region. Due to its characteristics, the variety is suitable for cultivation in various regions and provides a stable yield with proper care. Its resistance to major diseases and excellent taste make it an attractive choice for farmers and consumers focused on early harvest and quality product.
