Rubicon

Sunflower Rubicon is a high-oil hybrid recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones. It belongs to early-maturing varieties with a vegetative period of about 98 days. Plants reach a height of 160 cm, and the flower head diameter is approximately 20 cm. The hybrid is characterized by high seed oil content — 50-51%, making it attractive for oil production. The recommended planting density at harvest time is about 55,000 plants per hectare. Rubicon is distinguished by high resistance to various diseases and adverse conditions: resistant to downy mildew (8 points), downy mildew, and fusarium (8 points), white and gray mold (9 points), and also to false powdery mildew (8 points). In addition, the hybrid has high drought and heat tolerance, which is especially important for the steppe zone of Ukraine. It can quickly reduce seed moisture during maturation, facilitating harvest and improving crop quality. The Rubicon hybrid is suitable for both grain and silage use. Plants are tall, reaching 240-250 cm, with large flower heads weighing 400-450 g, positioned at a height of 100-105 cm. The recommended pre-harvest planting density varies depending on the cultivation zone: in the steppe — 45-50,000 plants per hectare, in the forest-steppe — 65-70,000. Potential grain yield reaches 12.5-13.0 t/ha, silage — 60-65 t/ha. Due to its characteristics and resistance to pests and diseases, Rubicon is a reliable choice for farmers seeking high-quality sunflower yields.
