VOSTORG

The potato variety Vostorg is a mid-season table variety developed by Russian breeders. The plant is of medium height with semi-upright leaves of medium size and open green foliage. Tubers have elongated or oval shape with very small eyes, light-yellow skin and pale-yellow flesh. The weight of one marketable tuber ranges from 100 to 150 grams, and starch content varies between 16.1–24%, ensuring good taste and versatility in culinary use. The Vostorg variety is characterized by high market yield, reaching 142–354 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 407 centners under optimal conditions. Marketability of the variety is about 71%, and storability reaches 94%, indicating good tuber preservation during storage. The potato is suitable for both everyday consumption and chip production, thanks to its combination of high yield and excellent taste. The variety shows resistance to potato cancer pathogen, but is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and moderately susceptible to late blight on foliage, and susceptible on tubers. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to consider sensitivity to nematode and provide appropriate care, especially on poor soils where yield may decrease. Vostorg is a reliable choice for regions with suitable conditions, combining high productivity with good agronomic characteristics.
