RED SHOVEL

The sweet pepper variety 'Red Shovel' belongs to medium-early and early-maturing varieties, fully ripening around day 100-110 after sowing. It is suitable for cultivation both in greenhouses and in open ground, including under plastic covers. The plant is compact, medium height (50 to 80 cm), with a bush that forms up to fifteen fruits. To support abundant yields, staking is recommended. When planting, 3 to 5 plants per square meter are placed, which allows for a yield of up to 4-6 kg per square meter.

The fruits of the 'Red Shovel' pepper have a distinctive flattened shape, resembling a shovel, making them convenient for whole-fruit canning. Each fruit weighs 120 to 150 grams, with wall thickness reaching 7-8 mm. The peppers are bright red, juicy, and sweet with a distinct spicy aroma and flavor. This shape allows compact packing of fruits into jars, saving space and maintaining an attractive appearance of preserved products.

The variety is characterized by uniform fruit ripening and good resistance to pests and diseases. It responds well to fertilization and regular watering, which contributes to higher yields and better fruit quality. For planting, seeds should be sown at the end of February to early March, and transplanted into greenhouses in mid-May. In open ground, peppers are planted after the last frost when soil temperature is not lower than +10°C.
