Aden Pepper — an early-maturing hybrid of sweet pepper, suitable for cultivation both in greenhouses and open ground. Technical maturity is reached in 65-70 days, while biological maturity occurs after 80-85 days from transplanting seedlings. The plant is determinate, robust, and tall, with a strong leaf mass that effectively protects the fruits from sunburn. This hybrid is characterized by high yield and a prolonged fruiting period, making it attractive for commercial cultivation. Aden pepper fruits have a trapezoidal shape with 3-4 chambers, wall thickness of 6-8 mm, and an average weight of about 200 grams. In technical maturity, they are ivory-colored, and in biological maturity, they turn into a deep red. The fruits possess excellent flavor, are well-suited for long-distance transportation, and retain their market appearance for a long time, expanding their use for fresh consumption as well as processing. The hybrid shows resistance to fusarium and verticillium, as well as tolerance to sunburn. It can successfully fruit under various temperature conditions, allowing cultivation during winter for early spring markets, as well as surviving summer drought. To achieve high yields, Aden pepper requires fertile soils and proper crop rotation: it is not recommended to plant it after plants of the Solanaceae family, and replanting on the same site is possible only after 3-4 years, which reduces the risk of disease and pest accumulation.
