Pepper Azhur

Stable Yield in Any Conditions

The 'Azhur' pepper by Sedek is a classic solution for farmers and gardeners who value predictability. This variety has firmly established itself in the portfolio of the Russian breeder as a reliable choice for those seeking a balance between low maintenance and high market quality. One of the key features of 'Azhur' is its flexibility: it adapts successfully to both open field cultivation and greenhouse environments, allowing growers to meet market demand throughout a long season.

Agronomic Traits and Protection

With a maturation period of 100-110 days, this pepper falls into the mid-season category. This is the “golden mean,” allowing the plant to develop a strong root system and set a sufficient number of fruits before the peak of summer heat or, conversely, the onset of autumn cooling. A fruit weight of 100-120 grams is considered universal—this format is ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for processing or stuffing.

The main advantage of this variety is its genetic resistance to Verticillium wilt. Verticillium often poses a serious challenge in areas with intensive farming, where pathogens persist in the soil for years. By choosing 'Azhur', the grower minimizes the risk of mass crop loss, which makes the investment in seeds economically justified even in areas with high infection pressure.

Market Positioning

Sedek products have long been familiar to professional vegetable growers. 'Azhur' is not about exotic traits or record-breaking sizes; it is about consistent, result-oriented performance. The firm skin of the fruit ensures good transportability, which is crucial for supply chains and retail markets. In small-scale farming, the variety is valued for its responsiveness to standard agronomic practices: timely watering, fertilization, and bush formation guarantee the harvest of uniform, juicy peppers with excellent flavor profiles.
