Onion Forrest

Forrest onion is an early hybrid leek developed by the Dutch breeding company Bejo Zaden. The vegetation period is approximately 85 days, allowing early harvests when grown from seedlings. The plant is characterized by rapid biomass accumulation and high stress resistance, ensuring successful growth even under changing cultivation conditions. Forrest forms a robust and dense plant with large, bluish-green leaves up to 5 cm wide and 75-80 cm tall. The whitened stem portion reaches a length of 25-30 cm and a width of about 4 cm.

This leek hybrid exhibits high disease tolerance, including immunity to Alternaria and onion rust, significantly simplifying care and reducing the risk of crop loss. The leaves of Forrest are tender, making the onion often used fresh and for processing. The bright green color of the leaves gives the plant an attractive appearance, while its strength and density ensure excellent transportability and storage life, making it popular in fresh markets.
