The Alexander pear variety is an autumn variety with large fruits that are distinguished by their attractive elongated-bottle shape and a weight of about 220 grams. Fruits usually set singly or in groups of 2-3. One of the important features of the variety is the firm attachment of fruits to the tree, which prevents them from dropping even in strong winds. The skin is thin, light brown-golden in color with a slight blush on the sun-exposed side. The flesh is white, tender, very juicy and sweet, has high taste qualities and literally melts in the mouth. The ripening period comes in October. The Alexander tree is medium-sized, reaching a height of up to 3.5 meters, with a compact pyramidal crown of medium density. The leaves are small and glossy, giving the tree a neat and well-groomed appearance. The variety was bred by crossing the varieties Volozhinka and Conference, which ensured it high winter hardiness and resistance to unfavorable conditions. The yield of the variety is high, which makes it attractive for cultivation both in private gardens and in commercial enterprises. The fruits of the Alexander variety have a smooth, regular-shaped surface with skin of medium thickness and dry texture. At the time of commercial maturity, the main color of the fruits is greenish with a brownish blush covering about half the surface. Upon reaching consumer maturity, the color changes to greenish-yellow with a brownish-red blush and whitish dots. The flesh is cream-colored, medium density, finely grained, oily, juicy and sweet with a slight aroma. The tasting score of the variety is 4.3 out of 5, which confirms its high taste qualities.
