IZYUMINKA KRYMA PEAR

Izyuminka Kryma pear is an autumn variety of Ukrainian selection, developed at the Nikitsky Scientific Research Institute, characterized by large barrel-shaped fruits weighing from 240 to 400 grams. The fruit coloration features a green-yellow background with a bright red blush covering most of the surface. The flesh is light cream-colored, of medium density, juicy and aromatic, with a pleasant sweet taste, confirmed by a high tasting score. The fruits contain up to 16% sugars, pectin, fiber, vitamins, and microelements, making them both beneficial and delicious.

The variety is characterized by high frost resistance and is suitable for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine, including areas with early springs and late autumns. Fruiting begins in the third year after planting, while seedlings are grafted on medium-sized quince rootstocks (IS 4-6). Marketable maturity is reached in the second decade of October, and the fruits maintain their taste qualities and commercial appearance when stored in refrigerators for up to 4-6 months, making the variety in demand among both hobbyist gardeners and for industrial-scale production.

Izyuminka Kryma is versatile in application: fruits are consumed fresh and also used for processing—jams, preserves, jelly, marmalade are made from them, they are dried and used to prepare compotes. Due to high transportability, the pears can be transported over long distances without loss of quality. The variety is distinguished by a long vegetation period and good resistance to major diseases, ensuring stable yields and high fruit quality.
