The "Krasa Zhiguley" pear variety was bred at the Zhigulevskie Sady in the Samara Institute of Horticulture and Medicinal Plants through crossing the ELS Volozhka and Naryadnaya varieties. The tree is medium-sized with an oval crown of medium density, characterized by strong shoot growth and an upright bush form. Leaves are dark green, oblong, weakly pubescent, with serrated edges. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and heat tolerance, as well as medium drought resistance and high resistance to diseases and pests. Compatibility during budding with other varieties reaches 97-100%.
The pears are medium-sized, weighing from 90 to 120 grams, usually short-pyriform or ovoid in shape with a smooth surface. The skin is of medium thickness, dry, with a basic greenish-yellow color and a brownish-red blush, which becomes bright red at consumer maturity. The flesh is cream or whitish-yellow, of medium density, tender, semi-buttery, with a pleasant aroma and sour-sweet taste, confirmed by a tasting score of 4.0–4.2 points.
The variety belongs to autumn types and ripens in early September. The tree is early-bearing, begins to fruit at 5-6 years old, and is characterized by high yield with annual fruiting. Scab resistance is average, frost hardiness is satisfactory for the central region, enduring temperatures down to -33°C. Thanks to its characteristics, "Krasa Zhiguley" is a reliable and attractive variety for growing in the Middle Volga region.
