Pea RUCK

French breeding for Ukrainian fields

The «RAK» pea is the result of years of development by the French breeding company SAS Florimond Desprez Veuve et Fils. In 2025, this complex hybrid was officially added to the Ukrainian register of varieties, addressing the demand for stability in the face of changing climate conditions. Developed through targeted selection (SZ), «RAK» demonstrates an adaptability that allows it to thrive across diverse agro-climatic zones.

Geography of adaptation

The key advantage of this hybrid lies in its broad zoning. «RAK» has successfully passed trials and is recommended for cultivation across all major agricultural regions of Ukraine:

• Steppe: resistance to drought periods and high temperatures.
• Forest-Steppe: realization of yield potential on fertile soils.
• Polissya: ability to withstand excess moisture and zone-specific pathogens.

Such versatility makes it a strategic choice for farms operating in different climatic belts. Its status as a complex hybrid, registered in 2025, confirms the use of advanced genetic tools aimed at improving harvesting efficiency and grain quality.

Role in crop rotation

Entering the market in 2025, «RAK» stands out as one of the most relevant solutions for farmers planning to update their seed stock. Unlike traditional varieties, this hybrid from Florimond Desprez is oriented toward intensive cultivation technologies. It occupies a niche of high-productivity crops capable of providing not only a stable total yield but also high marketability, which is critical for export-oriented agricultural enterprises.
