Chianti CS is a medium-early, simple, two-line hybrid sweet corn, intended for grain and silage production. The hybrid is included in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region and is characterized by a vegetation period of approximately 111 days. Plants are tall, with straight or slightly curved stems, reaching heights of 275 to 300 cm. Ears are short, thick, weakly conical, with short stalks; kernels are semi-pearl type, yellow-orange in color, both at the top and bottom.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to lodging and ear diseases, including fusarium, ensuring stable yields under various growing conditions. Tassel flowering occurs early, with strong anthocyanic silk coloration and medium leaf sheath and root coloration at the stem base. The tassel has medium density with moderately curved lateral branches positioned at a medium angle to the main axis.
Chianti CS is distinguished by high yield: average grain yield reaches 119 c/ha, maximum up to 148 c/ha, at grain moisture around 25%. When grown for silage, the hybrid yields an average dry matter content of 208 c/ha, with maximum up to 270 c/ha. Grain contains approximately 9.62% protein and 70.82% starch, making the hybrid attractive for integrated use in agriculture.
