Agronomic management of the «NOS IMPACT» pea variety

Introduced in 2025 by the Danish breeder Nordic Seed A/S, the «NOS IMPACT» pea variety is designed for high performance across Ukraine’s diverse climatic zones, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissya regions. Its genetic profile focuses on yield stability and resilience.

Cultivation guidelines

• Sowing window: Early spring sowing is critical. Aim for soil temperatures of +3°C to +5°C to ensure rapid germination and root establishment before the onset of summer heat.
• Seeding rates and spacing: For optimal canopy development, maintain a density of 1.0–1.2 million viable seeds per hectare. A 15 cm row spacing is recommended to balance light interception and weed suppression. Planting depth should be maintained at 4–6 cm.
• Soil requirements: The variety performs best in well-structured, neutral-pH soils (6.5–7.5). Avoid waterlogged areas or heavy, compacted clays that restrict root respiration.
• Phase-specific care: Weed control is essential during the 3–5 leaf stage. During the budding and early flowering phases, foliar application of molybdenum and boron is highly recommended to improve pod set and overall grain quality.

As a 2025 registered variety, «NOS IMPACT» offers modern resistance to lodging, which significantly simplifies harvesting operations and reduces field losses. Its adaptability makes it a versatile choice for farmers looking to optimize their pulse production in varying environmental conditions.
