Pea Comet

European reliability in every pulse field

The «Komet» pea variety, developed by the Czech breeder Oseva Eximpo Praha S.R.O., represents the modern standard for high-performance grain production. As a semi-leafless (tendril) variety, it addresses the primary challenges of large-scale farming: field stability and ease of harvest. The plant's unique morphology allows it to form a self-supporting canopy, effectively preventing lodging even in adverse weather conditions.

Agronomic efficiency and harvestability

Standing between 50 and 70 cm tall, «Komet» is perfectly adapted for direct harvesting. With a vegetation period of 70–80 days, this variety is classified as medium-early, allowing for an optimal crop rotation schedule. By reducing harvest losses, producers can capture the full potential of the crop, making «Komet» a highly profitable choice for those focused on efficiency and field-to-storage speed.

Grain quality and market demand

Quality is where the «Komet» variety truly shines. With a protein content ranging from 22 % to 24 %, it consistently meets the rigorous specifications required by both the feed and food processing sectors. The Thousand Kernel Weight (TKW) of 220–260 grams ensures robust grain development and excellent germination vigor. Oseva Eximpo Praha S.R.O. has successfully engineered a variety that balances vegetative growth with consistent grain quality, ensuring that «Komet» remains a reliable asset for agricultural enterprises seeking predictability and performance.
