Pea Petronium

Optimizing Harvest: The 'Petronium' Pea Strategy

For modern farms, minimizing losses during harvesting is as critical as high yield. The 'Petronium' pea variety, developed by NVA Stepova, is engineered for those who prioritize efficiency. Its semi-leafless (tendril) architecture is not just a botanical feature but a functional tool for farm management.

Why 'Petronium' fits intensive farming

• Straight Combining Capability: The plants interlock using their tendrils, creating a stable canopy that resists lodging. This allows for straight harvesting, eliminating the need for expensive swathing and reducing field passes.
• Efficient Lifecycle: With a growing season of 75–85 days, it fits well into diverse crop rotations, ensuring the crop is harvested before peak summer heat, which preserves both yield and quality.
• Grain Quality: With a thousand-seed weight of 240–260 grams and a protein content of 22–24%, 'Petronium' offers consistent market value for both feed and processing segments.

In field operations, 'Petronium' proves its worth by significantly reducing harvest time. The semi-leafless structure improves air circulation within the canopy, which is a significant advantage in reducing disease pressure during humid growing seasons. By choosing a variety that is physically adapted to mechanized harvesting, farmers can achieve higher throughput, cleaner grain samples, and lower fuel consumption per hectare.
