Description CHISHMINSKY 95
CHISHMINSKY 95 is a mid-early variety of field pea (Pisum sativum L.), developed through intraspecific hybridization and multiple individual selection from the hybrid of Shikhan and Topaz varieties. Plants reach a height of 65 to 116 cm, have a normal stem of medium length with 11-14 nodes, 8-10 of which are located below the first inflorescence. Leaves consist of two to three pairs of entire-margined leaflets of medium size, stipules are well-developed and have spotting. The inflorescence is a two-colored raceme with white large flowers. Pods are straight, 3-4-seeded with a blunt tip and a parchment layer, seeds are spherical, smooth, with yellow cotyledons and a closed hilum. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 224 to 295 g.

The variety is characterized by a mid-early vegetative period of 57 to 86 days and resistance to lodging, shattering and drought at the level of standard varieties Trudjenik and Neosypayushchiy 1. The yield of CHISHMINSKY 95 in the Middle Volga region reaches 22.4 centners/hectare, which is 2.2 centners/hectare higher than standards, in the Volga-Vyatka region — 27.9 centners/hectare, at the level of standards, and in the Udmurt Republic and Tatarstan the variety demonstrates even higher figures, exceeding standards by 3.8-5.0 centners/hectare. The maximum registered yield was 45.7 centners/hectare.

The protein content in the grain is about 21.5%, and commercial and culinary qualities are at the level of the best varieties. The variety is included in the list of valuable varieties. However, CHISHMINSKY 95 is susceptible to root rots and is highly susceptible to ascokhitosis. Damage by grain weevil and moth reaches up to 30% of grains, therefore it is recommended to carry out insecticidal treatments and seed fumigation according to the recommendations of the plant protection service. The variety is allowed for use in various regions of Russia, including the Volga-Vyatka, Middle Volga, Ural and Central Black Earth regions.
