Pea Laser

Why «Laser» by NPZ Lembke is the choice for consistent yields

In the field pea segment, NPZ Lembke’s German genetics set a high bar, and the «Laser» variety is a prime example of this quality. If you are looking for a crop that combines harvesting efficiency with predictable results, this pea has been engineered specifically for intensive farming environments.

Technology as a key advantage

The main feature of «Laser» is its leafless (semi-leafless) plant type. In field conditions, this provides a massive benefit: the tendrils interlock to form a sturdy «frame» that prevents lodging, even under adverse weather. For an agronomist, this means minimal harvest losses and the ability to utilize high-capacity machinery for direct combining.

• Vegetation period: 85–95 days. The variety fits perfectly into standard crop rotations, allowing for the timely preparation of fields for subsequent crops.
• Parameter stability: The 1000-seed weight ranges from 240 to 260 grams. Large, uniform seeds are the foundation of high marketability.
• Raw material quality: With a protein content of 23–25%, «Laser» is highly sought after for both feed purposes and processing in the food industry.

Growing specificities

With a plant height of 60–80 cm, the crop demonstrates an optimal architecture. «Laser» does not tend to overproduce vegetative mass, allowing the plant to focus its energy on forming high-quality pods. This is an ideal solution for farms striving to minimize harvest risks: its suitability for direct combining is excellent, significantly saving time and fuel costs during the harvest season.

Who is this variety for? «Laser» is the choice of professionals focused on profitability through process automation. It delivers stability where other varieties might require additional labor or suffer from lodging. The reliability of German breeding from NPZ Lembke manifests here in adaptability to a wide range of soils and climatic zones.
