Hippophae 'Perchik' is a medium-sized shrub reaching up to 3–4 m in height if left unpruned. It features linear leaves up to 8 cm long and about 0.8 cm wide, with a moderate number of thorns growing on its branches, making it suitable for gardens in open areas.
The fruits of the 'Perchik' variety have an oval shape, a bright orange color, and a glossy surface. The average weight of one berry is 0.5–0.6 g. They possess a sour taste with a characteristic pineapple aroma, making them popular both fresh and for processing into health drinks, juices, jellies, jams, or dried products.
The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and is suitable for cultivation in sunny open areas. The plant prefers light, well-aerated soils with a pH of 6.5–7 and cannot tolerate high soil moisture levels. Planting is carried out in spring or autumn, while care involves moderate watering and fertilization with nitrogen fertilizers in early summer, followed by phosphorus and potassium in the second half of summer. Propagation is most commonly done through cuttings, layering, or root suckers.
