HALF-WASTE

The mustard variety «Half-Waste» belongs to the Sarepta variety (Sinapis alba L.) and is intended for food, medical, and technical purposes. The plant reaches medium height at full bloom, and the first branching is located high, which promotes good air exchange and reduces the risk of diseases.

Key characteristics include medium pod length without a beak, medium number of seeds in each pod, and mass of 1000 seeds – 3.3 g. Seed yield is about 12 centners per hectare, and fat content in seeds reaches 46.5%. Allyl oil, an important component for the food and medical industries, is at a level of 0.74%.

The variety is characterized by resistance to lodging – it does not lodge, and also has weak shattering. According to the originator of the variety data, the plant is weakly damaged by rapeseed flower weevil, which indicates good resistance to pests and diseases. The vegetative period is 83‑86 days, and flowering time is medium, which allows planning plantings in various climatic conditions.

Thus, «Half-Waste» represents a reliable option for growing mustard with high content of useful oils and resistance to adverse environmental factors.
