LUKS is a high-quality Sarapov mustard (Sinapis alba L.), distinguished by early maturity and seed lodging resistance. The crop is drought-resistant, allowing cultivation under limited water supply conditions. Seeds are yellow in color, contain 44.2% oil, and yield mustard oil when pressed, after which the residue turns into powder.
For cultivating LUKS, both continuous and row sowing methods are used. Seeds are sown at a depth of 1–1.5 cm; the first seedlings appear 4–5 days after sowing. The vegetation period lasts 82–93 days, and at full flowering, plants reach a height of about 147 cm. Seed yield can reach 14.3 centners per hectare.
The resulting powder is a natural product without additives or impurities. It is produced from freshly ground yellow mustard seeds and has high nutritional value: 100 g contains 38 g of protein, 12 g of fat, 34 g of carbohydrates, and 382 kcal. The shelf life is up to 12 months under reliable packaging conditions. LUKS is suitable both for industrial mustard oil production and for home use as a spice, thanks to its bright taste and aromatic properties.
