Mustard 'New Arrival' is a winter mustard variety of the Sarapet type, characterized by high yield ranging from 3–3.5 t/ha and a potential up to 4.1 t/ha. The seeds weigh between 3.4 and 3.8 g, with an oil content of 46%, while the essential oil content is 0.78–0.80%. The plant exhibits moderate winter hardiness (81%) and has a long growing period – 278–280 days. As a result, it forms a robust plant with a height of 170 to 220 cm, which can easily be harvested by a combine harvester in mid-July.
The 'New Arrival' variety is distinguished by its high content of beneficial substances: seeds are rich in vitamins and minerals, as well as having antibacterial properties. When treated with ultraviolet light and ozone, germination increases by 20%, and up to 97% of harmful microflora is destroyed, ensuring the purity of the crops and improving harvest quality.
Mustard 'New Arrival' is suitable for both food use and agriculture. In cooking, seeds can be used in sauces, marinades, and dishes, imparting a piquant taste and digestive benefits. On farms, the plant serves as a cover crop: it sprouts quickly, enriching the soil with organic matter, phosphorus, and sulfates, while root exudates help combat pathogens in the soil. Due to its versatility of application, 'New Arrival' becomes a valuable product for both the kitchen and agrotechnology.
