"PRIMA" mustard variety is a blue, non-erucic acid type with erucic acid content within 0–1%. It is intended for the production of edible oil and mustard powder, and can also be used as a seasoning for meat and fish dishes. The seeds of the variety weigh about 3.1 g per 1000 units and contain approximately 43% oil, of which 0.9% is essential (allyl) oil.
PRIMA is characterized by high yield – up to 2.8 t/ha when grown with mechanization. Plants reach a height from 125 cm to 185 cm depending on climatic conditions and show moderate resistance to diseases and pests, as well as good resistance to lodging and seed shedding. The vegetation period is about 90 days, with maturation occurring on an average early schedule.
The variety is well-suited for cultivation in the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine, as well as in similar climatic conditions in Moldova and Russia. It is characterized by a mild, pungent taste and delicate aroma, making it a popular choice both for producing edible oil and as a seasoning for various dishes.
