Millet KOLORITNOYE 15

Stable Millet Yields with Built-in Disease Protection

Selecting seed material for millet production is a pursuit of balancing productivity potential with crop phytosanitary security. The "KOLORITNOE 15" variety, developed by the V.V. Dokuchaev Voronezh Federal Agricultural Scientific Center, is designed for farms operating in areas with moderate disease pressure on cereal crops.

Agronomic Profile and Resistance

This variety shows significant resistance to a range of specific pathogens that often reduce grain quality metrics annually. Working with "KOLORITNOE 15" helps minimize crop loss risks from:

• Mycosphaerella leaf spot;
• Stalk smut;
• Brown spot;
• Bacterial spot and citrus melanose.

These traits make the variety a reliable tool in crop rotation systems where soil-borne infection accumulation is a critical factor. Resistance to smut diseases is a key benefit for agronomists aiming to maintain marketability and nutritional value without excessive fungicide application.

Practical Cultivation Guidelines

Given its medium resistance to lodging, agronomic management should focus on optimal plant density. Avoiding overly dense stands allows the variety to fully realize its tillering and grain-filling potential. "KOLORITNOE 15" demonstrates excellent adaptability to regional soil and climatic conditions, ensuring predictable performance. The variety is highly recommended for operations that prioritize stable yields of high-quality processing-grade grain while minimizing disease risks during the growing season.
