DescriptionSARDAR
The SARDAR millet variety is a yellow-grained millet developed at the Federal Agricultural Scientific Center of the South-East. The plants are of medium height with a sturdy stem and compact panicles; the grains are large, round, and yellow. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to lodging, shattering, and drought, which ensures yield stability under various climatic conditions. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 7.8 to 11.2 grams, indicating the large-grained nature of the variety.
SARDAR has been included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements for the Central Black Earth and Middle Volga regions of Russia since 2023. The yield of the variety averages 37.7 centners per hectare in the Central Black Earth region and 32.6 centners per hectare in the Middle Volga region. The variety possesses complex resistance to 15 races of the head smut pathogen, as well as resistance to grain melanosis, which significantly reduces losses during storage and processing.
Additionally, the SARDAR variety is characterized by good technological properties: the grains contain a high amount of carotenoid pigments and protein, which enhances their nutritional value and makes them attractive for use in the food industry and feed production. The pedigree of the variety includes Aureum 9-07 and Sanguineum lines, confirming its breeding quality and adaptation to growing conditions in the specified regions.
