Proso millet Kostiantynivske

Field performance of the Kostyantynivske millet variety

For an agronomist, selecting the Kostyantynivske variety—developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Institute of Plant Production—is a choice of reliability. The primary advantage experienced during harvest is the variety’s high lodging resistance. For the combine operator, this translates into consistent performance, fewer stops, and the ability to maintain higher speeds without worrying about crop loss or equipment clogging. It makes the harvesting process predictable and efficient.

Crop protection and operational efficiency

One of the most significant features of this variety is its resistance to smut (головня). This built-in genetic protection is a game-changer for budget management, as it reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications. By mitigating the risk of disease, the variety ensures uniform ripening and high-quality grain. Fewer chemical passes mean reduced fuel consumption, less soil compaction, and streamlined logistics for your sprayers.

Practical application and management

Kostyantynivske is a classic high-performance variety that integrates seamlessly into existing crop rotations. It does not require complex adjustments to standard agricultural practices. It is a dependable choice for those who prioritize stability and ease of maintenance. With its documented resistance to major risks, this variety allows for efficient crop management from sowing to the grain bin, proving itself as a highly effective tool for professional farming in Ukraine.
