The ESO pea variety is a striking example of a modern leafless, upright-type variety, characterized by high drought resistance and resistance to shattering and lodging. Plants are of medium height, approximately 78-100 cm, with medium-length stems and a moderate number of nodes; leaves are moderately green. The leaf sheath is well-developed, medium-sized, with a waxy coating and characteristic mottling. The absence of secondary leaflets simplifies care and harvesting, which is recommended to be done by direct combine harvesting after desiccation to reduce losses.
ESO is an early-maturing, bright yellow-seeded pea variety with a vegetative period of about 110-115 days. It is distinguished by high yield — 57 to 60 centners per hectare, with potential yield reaching 65 centners per hectare. The 1000-seed mass is approximately 244 g, and the protein content in the grain reaches 23.6%, making this variety attractive for use in food and feed industries. The seeding rate is 1.0-1.2 million viable seeds per hectare or 200-250 kg.
The ESO variety is resistant to root rots, ascochitosis, anthracnose, and peronosporosis, ensuring reliable cultivation under various climatic conditions. It is recommended for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Steppe regions, and is suitable for all types of soils. For plant protection, it is necessary to apply soil herbicides, as well as insurance herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and microelements, which contribute to obtaining stable and high yields.
