MEDOVKA

The Medovka melon is a mid-season variety with a maturity period of 80-90 days from germination. The plants are strongly vining, forming smooth fruits with an oval-elliptical shape and golden-lime coloration. The fruit mass ranges from 2.2 to 4.2 kg, making them quite large and attractive for cultivation. The flesh is light cream, medium thickness, juicy, tender, and melting, with a pleasant aroma and excellent dessert flavor, making this variety especially valuable for fresh consumption.

The yield of the Medovka variety is 1.5-2 kg per square meter. The fruits maintain their market qualities and taste properties for 10-12 days after harvesting, ensuring convenience for storage and transportation. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to follow agronomic techniques: seed sowing is conducted for seedlings or directly in open ground when the soil temperature reaches 16 °C. When growing seedlings, the stem should be pinched above the 3-5 leaf, and in greenhouses, plants are tied to a trellis and formed into a single stem, removing side shoots up to a height of 50 cm and pinching subsequent ones after the third leaf.

In open ground, the first 3-4 fruits are left on the plant, after which the top is pinched to improve fruit formation. The plants require timely watering, weeding, loosening, and feeding to ensure a high yield and quality of fruits. The recommended planting density is 50-80 cm between holes, and the best predecessors for this variety are potatoes, cabbage, and legumes.
