The ROSINKA melon variety is an early-maturing variety with a maturation period of 59-62 days from germination to technical maturity. The plant is short-stemmed with medium-sized leaves. The fruits have an oval-round shape and a light-yellow or lemon-yellow color. The fruit mass varies from 0.7 to 1.5 kg, the surface is smooth, and the flesh is light cream, granular, medium-thick, tender, juicy, and aromatic. The dry matter content reaches 6.8%, and the total sugar level is up to 4.9%, which gives the fruits high sweetness and a pleasant taste.
The ROSINKA variety is distinguished by high yield, reaching 135-148 centners per hectare. For cultivation, sowing is recommended in May using a planting scheme of 140x60-70 cm or 70x150 cm when sowing seeds directly into the ground. It is also possible to grow through seedlings, whose sowing is carried out at the end of April, and transplanting into the ground is done in mid-May when the seedlings reach 30-35 days of age and have 3-5 true leaves. When growing in open ground, plants are pinched above the 4-5th leaf, leaving 2-3 side shoots and no more than 4-5 fruits for optimal development. To protect the fruits from rotting upon contact with the ground, moisture-resistant material is recommended to be placed underneath.
The ROSINKA melon is used primarily in fresh form due to its juiciness and aroma, and is also suitable for making candied fruits, jams, and preserves. When growing under film coverings, plants are trained to a single stem and tied to a trellis with a planting scheme of 70x70 cm. The best predecessors for this variety are potatoes, cabbage, and legumes, which contributes to obtaining a high and quality yield.
