Nevo F1 Watermelon is an ultra-early hybrid of the Pineapple type, developed by the Dutch breeding company Hazera. The vegetation period from transplanting seedlings to harvest is only 50-55 days, allowing for early harvest for fresh market sale. The plant actively develops, forms a robust vegetative mass, and blooms profusely, producing 3-5 fruits even under adverse weather conditions. To increase yield, it is recommended to apply complex fertilizers, regular soil moisture, and maintain optimal planting density — 8-10 thousand plants per hectare. Nevo watermelon fruits have an oval shape and weigh between 1.5 and 3 kg. Their rind is dense, firm, and rough to the touch, colored dark yellow with a large, light netting characteristic of the Pineapple variety. The flesh is creamy-white, moderately firm, juicy, and possesses a rich honey-vanilla flavor due to high dry matter content (12-13%) and sugar levels. This flavor profile makes the watermelon especially attractive to consumers and in-demand in retail and supermarket markets. Fruits detach easily from the stem during harvest, simplifying collection. The Nevo hybrid exhibits high resistance to major diseases such as powdery mildew and Fusarium wilt, ensuring stable yields and reducing the need for intensive plant protection. Thanks to its dense leaf canopy, the fruits are protected from sunburn, improving their quality and appearance. The watermelon tolerates transportation well and can be stored briefly under cool conditions, expanding its market potential. The main purpose of this variety is for early fresh market sales, where high consumer quality and attractive appearance are prized.
