The Lupin seed variety «Pelican» is a high-yield type developed through individual selection in Ukraine. It is distinguished by its disease resistance and short maturation period, making it attractive for agricultural use as a separate crop product.
Lupin «Pelican» is widely used in mixed plantings with cereal crops (wheat, barley). When combined with wheat, it achieves maximum green mass yield – up to 366 kg/ha, and the average over several years can reach 421 kg/ha. Such an approach ensures protein-balanced green feeds and silage, where the content of residual protein in a feed unit is about 132 g.
Moreover, «Pelican» serves as effective propaganda for improving soil fertility. As a legume plant, it fixes atmospheric nitrogen, reducing the need for mineral fertilizers and contributing to soil structure restoration. The plant grows on various soil types – from sandy to clayey, withstands drought well, and is suitable for sowing as a cover crop. Seeds are packaged in 100-kilogram bags, which is convenient for agronomic application.
