The "Belorozovyy144" variety is a narrow-leaved lupine (Lupinus angustifolius L.), intended as fodder, suitable for all types of livestock and poultry. It is characterized by medium maturity: the vegetation period ranges from 88 to 103 days, and the average grain yield falls within the 25–30 c/ha range, potentially reaching 40 c/ha. Green mass, at average yield, fluctuates between 340 and 400 c/ha, with the possibility of reaching up to 600 c/ha under optimal conditions. These indicators make the variety competitive compared to the standard, where it outperforms by several dozen grams in grain mass (125–180 g vs. 95–120 g) and by 14–15 cm in plant height.
Key characteristics include intensive initial growth and well-developed lateral branching, which ensures good sowing density and partial suppressive ability against weed development. The lupine flower is pale pink, and the seeds are large, round-kidney-shaped, white and shiny with a light hilum. Protein content in the grain is high – 33–36 %, making it a valuable component for normalizing concentrated feeds for digestible protein. Alkaloids are within the 0.027–0.050 % range, both in seeds and in dry green mass.
The variety is resistant to fusarium infection and tolerant to anthracnose, ensuring a stable yield even under unfavorable microbiological conditions. Thanks to these properties, "Belorozovyy144" is widely used as a feed additive for animals, and green mass is also used in mixtures with cereal crops, in silage and cereal-grass hay.
Its versatility makes it a suitable choice for cultivation in all climatic zones.
