Description GALIA
GALIA is a variety of variable medick (Medicago sativa L. nothosubsp. varia (Martyn) Arcang.), characterized by high adaptability and productivity. It is a plant of medium height with an erect or semi-erect bush and leaves of medium green intensity. The central leaflet has medium size, and flowers are predominantly creamy, white, or yellow, with a very low frequency of blue-purple shades. The variety is resistant to major diseases, including ascochitis, as well as lodging and freezing, ensuring reliability under various climatic conditions. GALIA demonstrates high dry matter and protein yield in different regions. In the Volga-Vyatka region, the average yield is 41.7 c/ha, which is 2.4 c/ha higher than the standard; in the Middle Volga region, it is 40.6 c/ha, 1.9 c/ha higher than the standard; and in the Ural region, the yield reaches 38.7 c/ha, matching the standard level. In terms of protein content, the variety exceeds the standard by 1.2 c/ha in the Middle Volga region. In the North Caucasus region, the average yield reaches 75.1 c/ha, with maximum indicators up to 210.6 c/ha, indicating the high productivity of the variety. The GALIA variety is recommended for hay and pasture use, especially in the Krasnodar Krai and North Caucasus region conditions. It is well adapted to frequent mowing, allowing for 4-5 cuttings per season, which increases fodder production efficiency. High fodder quality, resistance to adverse factors, and stable productivity make this variety a competitive choice for agricultural enterprises focused on producing high-quality fodder.
