Lucerne of the "Belgorodskaya 7" variety is a variable subspecies of Medicago sativa L. nothosubsp. varia, characterized by medium plant height in spring and a semi-erect bush type. Leaves have a medium-intensity green color, the central leaflet is of medium length and width. Flowers are predominantly blue-violet, with a very low frequency of mixed or light shades. Stems are of medium length at full flowering, and plant height gradually decreases from high to medium after mowing.
The variety is distinguished by high dry matter yield: in the Central-Black Earth region, the average yield reaches 66.9 c/ha, which is 5.3 c/ha higher than the average standard, while the maximum yield was 125.9 c/ha, significantly exceeding the indicators of the Voronezh 6 standard. In the West Siberian region, the average yield also exceeds the standard by 2.4 c/ha. The average protein content in the plant is about 16.6%, which corresponds to the level of standard varieties, and the average protein harvest reaches 10.1 c/ha.
The "Belgorodskaya 7" variety is distinguished by an early start of flowering and disease resistance, confirmed by the absence of damage during trials. These characteristics make it a reliable choice for cultivation in various regions, ensuring a stable and high yield of fodder mass with a good qualitative composition.
