Honeysuckle Volshebnitsa

High-yield reliability for harsh climates

When establishing a berry orchard in regions prone to extreme winters, the «Volshebnitsa» honeysuckle variety acts as a low-maintenance, high-performance asset. Developed by the Ural Federal Agrarian Research Center (UrFANITS UrB RAS), this variety is engineered for survival, boasting a cold tolerance of up to -45°C. For an operator, this means minimal risk of winter-kill and no need for costly emergency measures during deep freezes.

Operational Performance

Efficiency in harvesting and maintenance is the cornerstone of «Volshebnitsa» cultivation. With a bush height of 1.2–1.5 meters, the canopy is accessible and easy to manage. The plants consistently produce 2.0–3.0 kg per bush, allowing for precise logistics and supply planning for the fresh market.

• Fruit Specifications: Berries average 1.0–1.5 grams, perfect for standard fresh-market packaging.
• Flavor Profile: The berries offer a classic sweet-and-sour profile with a characteristic hint of bitterness, which is highly appreciated by consumers looking for authentic, non-cloying natural flavor.
• Maintenance Requirements: The variety is straightforward to maintain. Standard pruning and irrigation practices are sufficient to sustain the declared yield capacity, ensuring a low total cost of ownership per harvest cycle.

Opting for «Volshebnitsa» is a decision for operational stability. You are not just planting a crop; you are deploying a robust biological system designed to withstand severe weather while delivering a marketable, consistent, and quality product year after year.
