Strawberry Pink Dream

Breeding Success from Agrofirma Poisk

The garden strawberry 'Rozovaya Mechta' (Pink Dream) represents years of expert breeding by Nikolay Klimenko and Sergey Maksimov. Offered by the well-known Russian brand 'Agrofirma Poisk', this variety has established itself as a reliable early-ripening choice for open-field cultivation. Its primary appeal lies in the unique aesthetic of the berries, which perfectly lives up to the name.

Agronomic Profile

These berries stand out in the garden thanks to their delicate pink, almost pastel hue. With an individual berry weight between 20 and 40 grams, the fruit is perfectly suited for both home gardens and local fresh produce markets. Its early maturity (35–40 days) ensures an early start to the harvest season, which is a significant advantage for small-scale growers aiming for early market entry.

Resistance and Health

Fungal diseases are often the greatest challenge for strawberry growers. 'Rozovaya Mechta' demonstrates impressive natural resilience against major threats, including Fusarium wilt and gray mold (Botrytis). This resilience minimizes the need for heavy chemical treatments, simplifying the maintenance routine. With a moderate winter hardiness of -18°C, it is a dependable choice for temperate climates, provided standard protective measures are taken for the winter season.

Market Positioning

As a non-remontant (June-bearing) variety, it remains a classic favorite for those who prioritize a predictable, bountiful harvest at the start of summer. The berries possess a distinct flavor profile ideal for fresh consumption, securing their place among the high-quality dessert varieties developed in Russia.
