BAKCHARSKAYA ANNIVERSARY

Bakcharskaya Anniversary Lonicera is one of the most popular early varieties of lonicera thanks to large and juicy fruits. Berries have an average mass from 1.4 to 1.8 grams, elongated-oval shape with a rounded top, dark purple skin with a waxy bloom and a pleasant sweet-and-sour taste, rated at 4.8 points in tasting competitions. Berries grow in compact groups, which facilitates collection, and with proper care, the crop does not shed.

Bushes reach a height of about 1.5 meters and have a dense oval crown. Saplings begin fruiting in the second year after planting, and yields can reach from 3 to 4 kilograms per bush – one of the best indicators among commercial varieties. Bakcharskaya Anniversary Lonicera is characterized by high frost resistance (up to -50 °C) and resistance to diseases and pests, which makes it suitable for both home gardens and plantations.

For maximum yield, it is recommended to plant several varieties as pollinators – for example, Vostorg or Bakcharsky Giant. Optimal growing conditions include a sunny, wind-protected area with fertile loose soil, regular watering and feeding in the third year after planting. Fruiting occurs in June-July, and berries are rich in vitamins A, C, P, B, potassium, sodium and phosphorus, making them healthy.
