Smooth brome Gerald

European breeding for productive and durable pastures

The smooth brome variety 'Herald', developed by the Dutch company Innoseed b.v., stands as a benchmark in professional forage grass production. In the context of intensive livestock farming, where stability of yield and nutritional value of green mass are critical, this variety has established itself as an essential tool for creating high-yielding hayfields and pastures.

The Innoseed b.v. development is focused on long-term utility; 'Herald' retains its vitality within the sward for many years, representing a strategic investment for agricultural producers. Its primary value lies not only in biomass volume but also in its rapid regrowth capacity after grazing or mowing.

Agronomic Potential

• Forage Quality: A high protein content combined with excellent palatability makes 'Herald' a preferred component for hay and haylage production.
• Adaptability: The variety shows resilience to temperature fluctuations and drought periods, a hallmark of Dutch breeding standards.
• Application: Ideally suited for establishing improved pastures in temperate climate zones requiring forage mixes with high growth energy.

Choosing 'Herald' means prioritizing the stability of your forage base. Leveraging the genetic potential engineered by Innoseed b.v., this brome grass successfully competes with other perennial grasses, providing livestock farmers with high-quality raw material even under challenging climatic conditions.
