Smooth brome Marinetsa

The pedigree and market positioning of the 'Maryntsa' Bromegrass

The 'Maryntsa' smooth bromegrass is a premium result of long-term breeding collaboration between Sativa LLC, the Veselepodilska Experimental Station, and the Yuriev Plant Production Institute. Developed to meet the specific demands of Ukrainian livestock agriculture, this variety provides a robust solution for permanent grassland establishment.

Agronomic Strengths and Field Performance

The variety is highly valued for its natural field resistance to smut (Ustilago), reducing the need for intensive chemical treatment. Growing to a height of 80–100 cm, 'Maryntsa' combines biomass productivity with excellent regrowth capabilities after mowing or intensive grazing.

• Primary Use: Forage production (hay and grazing).
• Plant Habit: 80–100 cm height, optimized for standardized agricultural harvesting equipment.
• Durability: Selected for persistence and ability to withstand local environmental stressors.

On the agricultural market, 'Maryntsa' has earned a reputation for reliability. By balancing high yield potential with structural stability, it allows producers to maintain productive pastures for multiple seasons, ensuring a steady supply of quality fodder for cattle.
