Eureka is a medium-maturing lucerne variety characterized by high resistance to elevated temperatures and various diseases. Plants reach a height of 35 to 50 centimeters, have sturdy stems that do not require tying, which facilitates cultivation in open ground.
The vegetative period lasts approximately 85–88 days from sowing seeds in May. Green pods up to 15 centimeters long contain large white beans that can be used both fresh and for industrial production. Thanks to good fertility and disease resistance, Eureka is suitable for both home cultivation and commercial plantations.
The variety grows well on sandy loams and light clay chernozems, prefers sufficient moisture but does not tolerate proximity to groundwater. It also exhibits drought resistance and withstands trampling, making it an ideal choice for pasture and agricultural lands with various climatic conditions.
