Smooth brome POLTAWSKY 52

Technical Specifications and Plant Architecture

«Poltavsky 52» is a smooth brome cultivar engineered for high-yield forage production. The technical focus of this cultivar is on its aggressive vegetative recovery and robust root system architecture. This ensures not only soil stabilization in permanent pastures but also superior drought resistance during critical summer growth stages.

Operational Performance

• Forage Efficiency: The cultivar is characterized by a high leaf-to-stem ratio, which directly correlates to superior nutritional quality and palatability in both hay and silage.
• Management Versatility: Designed for dual-purpose use, it performs exceptionally well under both rotational grazing systems and traditional mechanical harvesting for hay.
• Stand Longevity: «Poltavsky 52» exhibits strong regenerative capacity after defoliation, allowing for a productive lifespan of 6 to 8 years under standard agronomic management.

For farm operators, the primary technical advantage is the combination of early spring vigor and rapid regrowth post-cut. This characteristic minimizes weed encroachment risks and maximizes the total annual dry matter yield, making it a reliable cornerstone for long-term forage planning.
