The "Danka" variety is an early, multi-seeded, non-industrial fodder pumpkin variety grown in open ground and intended primarily for seed production. The plant belongs to the medium-vining group, which ensures resistance to unfavorable conditions and good yield. The fruits are round-flat, smooth, with medium rind thickness, weighing from 2.5 to 3.5 kg and having a grey-green or orange-green color with possible stripes or marbling.
Inside the fruit, there are 300 to 400 large white elliptical seeds, each weighing about 2.1–2.6 g. The seeds are distinguished by high quality and good germination – 90%. Thanks to this, the "Danka" variety is considered one of the most productive for seed production, with a yield of 700 to 1000 kg/ha and a potential up to 1200 kg/ha. Seeds are easily preserved, which allows them to be used for a long time.
The variety has high taste qualities of the pulp and seeds, and is also valued as a fodder plant due to its starchy structure and nutritional value. Fruits can be stored for up to 8 years under proper conditions, which makes them convenient for long-term storage and use in various production chains.
