SLAVA DARBENT

Slava Darbent is an early-mid season technical grape variety developed at the Dagestan Breeding Experimental Station through the crossbreeding of Gimra and Asyl Kara. Under Darbent conditions, the period from bud break to full berry ripeness is approximately 130 days with a sum of active temperatures of 2747°C. Leaves are medium to large, egg-shaped, deeply lobed, five-lobed, dark green with a netted-wrinkled surface and cobwebby down on the underside. Flowers are bisexual, which promotes good pollination and crop formation.

Bunches are large, conical, of medium density, sometimes loose. Berries are medium-sized, round-oval, dark blue, covered with a thick layer of pruin. Skin is of medium thickness, flesh is juicy and pleasant to the taste. Shoot ripening is good, ensuring stable fruiting. The variety is distinguished by high yield and above-average winter hardiness, making it suitable for cultivation in regions with a moderate climate.

Slava Darbent is valued for its market qualities and resistance to major grape diseases. It begins to bear fruit in the third year after planting, allowing for a quick harvest. Due to good transportability and the attractive appearance of the bunches, this grape is suitable both for fresh consumption and for technical processing.
