Description SKUNGUB 6
The Skungub 6 grape variety is the result of breeding conducted at K. A. Timiryazev Moscow State Agricultural Academy. This is a universal variety with an early maturity period, reaching full berry ripening within 110-120 days, allowing harvest in August-September. Bushes are vigorous, with large, deeply lobed dark-green leaves with little bristly pubescence. Bush training form is non-cordon, multi-arm, fan-shaped, with short and medium pruning length. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness, which allows growing it uncovered in cold regions.

Clusters of the variety are medium-sized, cylinder-conical in shape, weighing about 234-300 grams, with medium density. Berries are oval, black-purple or black-red in color, of medium size with medium-thick skin. The flesh is juicy with a harmonious refreshing taste. Berry sugar content is approximately 16.5-18.7%, acidity varies from 6 to 10.6 g/l. Sensory evaluation of fresh grapes and juice is high, confirming its universal application.

The variety has high yield — on average 139 centners per hectare, maximum up to 165 centners. Up to 6 kg of berries can be harvested from a bush. The variety has medium resistance to diseases, however it is susceptible to infection by downy mildew, powdery mildew, gray rot and spider mites with infection level of 40-60%. Skungub 6 grape is widely used for fresh consumption, as well as for making juices and ordinary wines, making it in demand both in amateur and industrial viticulture.
