The 'Flowering' grape variety is a table variety known for its enhanced resistance to diseases and frost. This variety was developed by crossing the 'Northern' variety with three muscat types—White, Alexandrian, and Hungarian—which endowed it with unique taste qualities and adaptability. 'Flowering' belongs to medium-ripening varieties: approximately 134 days pass from bud break to the technical ripeness of the berries, and the harvest usually matures in the second decade of September with an active temperature sum of about 2710°C. Young shoots of the variety have a green, pubescent corolla and leaves, while one-year-old mature shoots are thin, yellowish-brown with darker nodes. The leaves are of medium size, rounded, five-lobed, with a characteristic medium- or deeply-cut shape, featuring lyre-shaped incisions and triangular teeth at the ends of the lobes. In autumn, the leaves turn yellow. The flowers are perfect (bisexual), which facilitates good pollination and fruit set. The clusters of the 'Flowering' grape are cylindro-conical in shape, of medium size and dense, with a mass of about 140 grams. The berries are of medium size, rounded, sometimes with slight deformation, yellowish-green in color. The skin is thin but sufficiently dense and covered with a thick waxy bloom, which protects the berries and preserves their juiciness. The pulp is characterized by juiciness and a harmonious taste with a distinctly pronounced muscat aroma. Thanks to these qualities, the variety is widely used for the production of juice, as well as table, fortified, and dessert wines.
